Lakeland Deputy City Manager Headed To Sarasota

Sarasota, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-What is Lakeland's will soon be Sarasota's as Brad Johnson has accepted a conditional offer to serve as an assistant county administrator.  

The 37 year-old Johnson has been Deputy City Manager for Lakeland since March of 2012. He's expected to start in his new role on July 9, filling the position left open by Jonathan Lewis, who was appointed to the job of county administrator this year.

In addition to working for the City of Lakeland, Johnson previously held leadership positions with the Cities of Palm Bay and Holly Hill.

Johnson graduated from the University of Missouri with a Masters in Public Administration. Additionally, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland.

Johnson's confirmation is expected during the commission's June 12 meeting.
