One Fatal Crash Involves Two Hit-and-Run Drivers

New Port Richey, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A single fatal accident Friday night involved two hit-and-run drivers, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A blue Chevrolet Tahoe pulled out of the RaceTrac gas station on State Road 54 in New Port Richey at about 11:30 p.m. with Janet Emile, 35, hanging halfway out of the front passenger window, according to a news release from the FHP.

Emile fell out of the Tahoe and a second vehicle, believed to be a Ford SUV, ran over her as she lay in the road. She died later at a hospital.Both drivers left the scene. They say the Tahoe is from model years 2000-2002, and that the Ford will have left-front or undercarriage damage. 

Troopers ask anyone with information that can identify the vehicles and/or their drivers to call *FHP from their cell phones, or CrimeStoppers at 800-873-TIPS.
