Rules For Snake Hunters Change

Homestead,Fla.(970 WFLA)-The battle to remove pythons, an invasive species of snake from Everglades National Park are expanding.  

The Everglades National Park and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission say they now will allow paid contractors to remove Burmese pythons.  The maximum allowed number of participants in the park will be tripled from 40 to 120. 

According to the FWC, contractors will be permitted to use firearms or other humane methods to euthanize pythons in the wild.
