Trial date set in Pasco theater shooting case

A Pasco County circuit judge has set a February 25th, 2019 trial day for Curtis Reeves.

The retired Tampa police captain is accused of fatally shooting Chad Oulson during a confrontation over texting at the Cobb Grove 16 movie theaters in Wesley Chapel in January of 2014.

An appellate court has made changes to the state's Stand Your Ground law, making the law retroactive.  Reeves' attorneys believe that change may make him immune from prosecution, since Reeves claims he was acting in self defense.
