For the second time, the Pasco County School Board has approved a rezoning plan for West Pasco that will shift 500 students to other schools.
The board voted unanimously during a special board meeting in favor of the plan that would move students at Mitchell High and Seven Springs Middle to River Ridge High and Middle schools.
Superintendant Kurt Browning says it'll be done this fall to alleviate overcrowding. But many parents are still upset with the disruption and vow to continue to fight against it.
Months ago, a judge voided the boundary change because there wasn't enough public transparency in the initial process.
Under the new plan, affected families can apply to re-enroll and remain at Mitchell, Anclote and Seven Springs, but the district says it all depends on whether there is space available.
