New Port Richey, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash Sunday morning came forward after heavy media coverage of the case, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Shanna Rampino, 38, of New Port Richey told the FHP that she had been involved in a crash and surrendered a 2000 Toyota pickup truck involved. Troopers believe the truck was the one that struck and killed Shawn Grady, 46, as he rode his bicycle on Rowan Road at about 5:43 a.m. Sunday. The driver left the scene, but parts of the vehicle left behind came from a white Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
A news release from the FHP indicates that charges are pending. It continues to investigate. The photo of Rampino from the Pasco County Jail comes from a previous arrest unconnected to this case.
