If you've ever been down to Venice Beach, FL then you probably understand how it got its title of 'World's Shark Tooth Capital.'
Maybe you have gone and didn't even know to look for sharks teeth, and if that's the case, you may want to plan to revisit very soon.
Venice's Caspersen Beach is a GREAT place to go shark tooth hunting, and for the most part, it's a pretty quiet beach and not surrounded by tourists. Best part? FREE PARKING.
You may find people walking about the beach with little gadgets like these to help find the sharks teeth in the sand.
Although you of course don't have to bring any of these gadgets, they definitely help when looking for the sharks teeth.
Something as simple as a sand strainer could work, or you could go as far as renting a seashell sifter.
One of the cool things about Caspersen Beach and Venice Beach is you don't only find sharks teeth but other very cool fossils.
On one of my trips, I managed to find all of these while just using a sand sifter from the Dollar Store.
Amongst my findings this day were fossilized String Ray vertebrates and a variety of sizes of sharks teeth.
This was just ONE day with a simple tool. I've visited this beach a number of times and have had great luck and findings each time I visit this beautiful beach.
You can certainly find a variety of sizes like this sharks tooth hunter did!
If you're into fossil hunting, you HAVE to take the beautiful drive down to Venice Beach with your sand sifter and get your hunting on!
Oh yeah, the sunsets aren't bad either ;)
