Tampa, Fla.-(5/24/2018)-I'm a big Tampa Bay Lightning fan. Yes, I am bummed out a little that the Bolts didn't make the Stanley Cup Finals. I am, however, still proud of the team.
We won the cup way back in 2004 and we've been in the playoffs more than a few times since. How many other teams can say that? GO BOLTS!
I went to the very first Lightning game when they opened at the Florida State Fairgrounds. I also made it to opening night this season to mark 25 years of Lightning hockey.
It was tough to watch the Bolts get shut out by the Washington Capitals in the final two games of the Eastern Conference Finals. At least we got there.
Team ownership, management, staff and players all deserve a pat on the back for a job well done. No cup, but a lot of pride on the part of the fans. Dust off the disappointment. We'll get em' next season.
