Bradenton, Fla. (970 WFLA)-A 16 year old boy is facing charges for bringing a loaded gun to school in Manatee County.
Deputies arrested a 10th-grader at Bayshore High School when a school resource officer found the gun in the boy's waistband. Deputies credit the boys classmates for alerting school officials about the gun, and they, in turn, told the SRO. After the arrest, the school district announced all backpacks are now banned and metal detectors will be used.
