In the overnight hours of this last Sunday, 13-year-old Jesus Navarro Jr. was walking along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Dover. He was struck and killed by a driver who drove off.
Now, Sgt. Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol says the owner of the suspect vehicle--a Ford F250--surrendered it to investigators.
Gaskins says the truck does have front-end damage consistent with the vehicle used in the deadly accident. No charges have been filed and he says the investigation could take some time.
For now, Gaskins says this case is a stark reminder to always stop if you've been involved in an accident.
