Hit-and-Run Kills Pedestrian in Dover

Dover, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A hit-and-run crash early Sunday left a pedestrian dead, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The person, whose identity troopers had not released, walked along the westbound shoulder of State Road 574 approaching Mott Road at about 7 a.m. when the vehicle, going east on SR-574, veered into the westbound lane and collided with the pedestrian.

Troopers believe the vehicle responsible was a Ford F-250 XL. It will have damage to its left headlight and left front fender, according to a news release from FHP.
