Tampa Gets A New Fire Chief

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn has named Assistant Chief Nick LoCicero to be the next Tampa Fire Rescue Chief.  LoCicero will replace the retiring Chief Tom Forward.

Buckhorn says LoCicero is "prepared" to be chief after spending over thirty years with the department. LoCicero has served with Tampa Fire Rescue since 1986. 

Retiring Chief Forward says LoCicero's career of working every area of the fire service have more than "prepared him for success leading Tampa Fire Rescue."

LoCicero is a graduate of Hillsborough Community College's Fire Science and EMS Paramedic programs. LoCicero also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. The new chief is a former Silver Medal of Valor and Firefighter of the Year Recipient of the department.
