Valrico, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A train struck and killed a pedestrian Saturday morning, and the incident forced police to close State Road 60 at Valrico Station Road Saturday morning, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
All lanes of State Road 60 in both directions were shut down so that the Florida Highway Patrol could investigate the crash, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene, the news release said. It had no details on who the person was, or why he or she was on the track at the time the train passed.
