Sarasota, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A wrong-way crash on I-75 killed the drivers of two cars Saturday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A Chevy HHR, going southbound in the northbound lanes of the Interstate at mile marker 212, struck a Ford coming north at about 3:45 a.m. After impact both vehicles caught fire. Their drivers were the only passengers, and both died, according to a news release from FHP.
State troopers had yet to notify next-of-kin, and had not released the names of the drivers Saturday morning. They had not determined, according to the news release, if alcohol played a role in the crash.
