South Carolina Prison Fight Leaves 7 Inmates Dead and 14 Injured

The Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville, South Carolina houses nearly 1,500 of the most violent and longest-serving offenders.

Early Monday morning, state correctional facilities state that after several hours of fighting, 7 inmates are dead ans 17 more are left injured.

It is said that the fighting began sometimes shortly after 7PM Wednesday night and continues until the fights were stopped completely at around 3am Monday morning.

Luckily, all prison staff and responding law enforcement were safe and accounted for.

The question of 'Why did the fights take so long to be stopped?' is still left unanswered.
