Gibsonton, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Detectives have a solved a nearly nine-year old murder case with the arrest of a man already jailed on homicide charges.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office accuses Charles Andrew Martinez, 28, of the shooting death of Victor Martinez, who was 21 when he was discovered dead in the area of Powell Road and US-41 in Gibsonton, November 8, 2009.

The victim had gunshot wounds to the middle of his back and in the head, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

The HCSO says its homicide detectives "developed sufficient evidence to obtain an arrest warrant for (Charles) Martinez, who is currently in the Hillsborough County jail, previously charged with 2013 homicides," the release said.
