Clearwater Firefighter Arrested For DUI And More

Clearwater, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-An off-duty firefighter has been arrested for DUI, resisting arrest and possession of cocaine after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his pickup truck in St. Pete Beach.

Deputies say they were flagged down by a concerned citizen about a man slumped over in his truck on Boca Ciega Drive, near 75th Street.  Responding deputies say 36 year-old Andrew Leeth smelled of booze and had bloodshot, glassy and watery eyes.

As a precaution, Leeth was taken to the hospital.  Leeth then refused to submit to a blood test, removed his medical equipment and attempted to leave. Deputies had to use a taser to stop Leeth.

Leeth was also found to be in possession of a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.
