Tampa, Fla.-(4/11/2018)-How about those Bolts? We're in the playoffs again. It's a fitting way to celebrate the Lightning's 25th Anniversary.
It just seems like yesterday that I attended the very first game. It was at the Expo Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds. A lot of folks called it the Espo Hall for team founder Phil Esposito. I think I spent much of that first game cracking peanut shells for my young son.
Watching hockey in that small facility was great. Not a bad seat in the house and you were really close to the players. After Expo Hall it was on to the Thunder Dome in St. Pete (now Tropicana Field) and then to the Ice Palace (now Amalie Arena).
I may have given the team a boost this season as I attended the 2017-2018 opener. It's been a great season, but we need to finish with the cup. I've still got my locker room hat from that big win over the Calgary Flames and I could use another championship cap.
