TAMPA and MIAMI (970 WFLA) -- More cruises from Tampa to Cuba, coming next year.
Miami-based Carnival Cruise Line says it's adding an additional 20 voyages to the island from Port Tampa Bay in 2019. Carnival says there'll be a total of 31 cruises from here to Cuba on the remodeled Carnival Paradise (pictured).
Carnival vice president of revenue planning and fleet deployment Fred Stein says it's a response to demand. "Guests who have cruised to Cuba with us already have just raved about it, and it's a fantastic experience," Stein said.
Stein says the new cruises from Tampa will be five days long with stops in Cozumel, Key West or Grand Cayman. These extra voyages also comply with U-S Treasury regulations regarding travel to Cuba.
