St. Petersburg, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police have made an arrest for that shooting outside The Sugar Room night club earlier this week. The gunfire claimed the life of 33 year-old Jermaine Long.
Officers say 24 year-old James Williams was the man who pulled the trigger on the AK 47 style rifle that killed Long. Officers believe some sort of altercation between the two men inside the club led to the confrontation outside.
Detectives say Long was a passenger in a car that was driving away from the club when Williams opened fire. There were no other injuries to people in the car.
Police say it is still on ongoing investigation and there may be additional arrests.
