Tampa P.D. Investigating Two Murders


Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Tampa police say they have two separate homicide investigations working.

One of the murders started out as a traffic dispute at Fowler and I-275 as a car and a pickup were stopped at a light.  The driver of the car got out and attacked and injured the passenger in the pickup, identified as 56 year-old Gilbert Serna.  

The driver of the car sped off with the pickup following.  The driver of the truck finally stopped to get help for his passenger at West 109th Avenue and North Ashley Drive. Serna was transported to the hospital, where he died.

The other incident happened at North 28th Street and East Lake Avenue.  Police got a report of shots fired and then found a man shot there.  That man was transported to Tampa General, where he died.  His name has not yet been released.
