Bradenton, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Manatee County deputies have arrested 23 year-old Dakota Jibson for the murder of 50 year-old Veronica Polite. She is the woman found on fire in a wooded area off of 18th Street, East, here.
Investigators say Jibson met the blind woman in the parking lot of the City Walk Apartments. Jibson, Polite and two others got into the car and drove around for a while. Jibson eventually dropped off the two passengers and drove away with Polite.
Deputies say something happened after that and Jibson killed Polite and then set her body on fire. The Manatee County Medical Examiner says Polite suffered severe head trauma by a blunt sharp object, which pierced the skull. Investigators also found a fire accelerant near the body.
