BARTOW (970 WFLA) -- Tuesday, April 3rd is election day in eight Polk County communities, according to the Polk supervisor of elections. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Bartow: two city commission seats
Davenport: one city commission seat
Eagle Lake: one city commission seat
Frostproof: one city commission seat
Haines City: one city commssion seat and 3 charter amendments, requiring commissioners to reside in city limits for their entire terms, allowing E-mail delivery of public notices to elcted officials and changing "For and Against" to "Yes and No" in ballot questions
Lake Alfred: one city commission seat
Mulberry: nine charter amendments, regarding terms of office, vacancies, when to install commissioners, putting the city clerk under the city manager, setting bidding thresholds for city purchases, requiring commission approval for long term contracts, changing election qualifying and setting runoff elections, emergency ordinances and gender neutral language in the charter
Polk City: charter amendment requiring referendum approval before disposing of city utilities
