St. Petersburg, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police here are looking for a man who is posing as an officer. They say the man is driving a white police-style car.
Investigators say the fake cop pulled over a woman near 5th Avenue, South, and 34th Street. The man claimed to be a police officer, asked for the woman's driver's license and then later drove off.
The man is described as muscular, with dark skin and over six feet tall (see police composite sketch).
Police officers say if you feel unsure about the identity of an officer, to call 9-1-1, give them your location and the operator can verify whether or not it is a legitimate traffic stop.
