Higher Gas Prices Coming To Tampa Bay Area

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Expect to see higher gasoline prices this week according to AAA Auto Club South's Mark Jenkins.

Jenkins says the Florida average has gone up 10 of the last 12 days. Jenkins also says you should expect prices to climb by at least another 10 cents in the coming weeks.

The auto club notes that gasoline demand has been strong over the past two weeks as people travel for spring break. Jenkins says the higher demand, coupled with lower gasoline supplies, are expected to contribute to a price climb in the next several weeks.

Other contributing factors to higher gas prices include rising crude oil prices and rising gasoline futures prices.

The most expensive gas price averages in Florida are in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area at $2.67. The least expensive gas prices are in the Tampa Bay area at $2.48 a gallon.
