Wimauma, Fla. (970 WFLA)-One person is dead after a fast moving brush fire off Bonita Drive in Wimauma Thursday night.
The person who died was identified as 87 year old Donald Wright, his body was found in the nearby brush, three people escaped without injury. Foul play is not suspected however the investigation continues.
The fire destroyed several small sheds and an RV. Neighbors say they heard an explosion before seeing the flames.
Because the fire is in a remote rural area with out hydrants, crews from Manatee County Fire and Rescue, along with the Florida Forest Service assisted to help shuttle water to the area.
Fire fighters are still at the scene putting out hot spots. T
