Sarasota Drug Operation Ends With Arrests

Sarasota, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police here have wrapped up a nine month long drug investigation with the arrests of 49 street level drug dealers.  Officers say they're still looking for another four people involved in the sale of illegal drugs.

Police say a total of 54 people were involved in the selling of narcotics during what was called "Operation Four Corners." The operation got the name as police targeted four highly trafficked street corners in the city.

Police Chief Bernadette DiPino says her undercover officers bought everything from cocaine and opioids to marijuana from the suspected dealers.  Officers also recovered drugs, money and guns during the effort.

DiPino says the bad guys were selling drugs near schools and parks in the city.
