Humvee Crushes Car in Crash, Kills Passenger

Brandon, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A young woman died Friday night when the car she rode in collided with a Humvee, which landed on top of the car, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Saijah I. Coleman, 22, of Gibsonton, rode in the front passenger seat of a Nissan Altima on Lumsden Road at 6:40 p.m. when it made a turn into the path of the Humvee driven by Robert Culhane, 50, of Valrico, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.  The Hummer struck the passenger side of the Nissan, spun, and rolled on top of the car.

The car's driver, whom deputies believe was Jayson Upshaw, Jr., 20, and another passenger, Dudley Bryant, IV, 22, both suffered life-threatening injuries. Culhane crawled out of the wrecked Hummer with minor injuries.

No one faces charges at this time pending further investigation, the release said.
