Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-You may have noticed that it is costing you a bit less to fill up the gas tank. But, the experts say enjoy the low prices while you can.
Triple A Tampa's Mark Jenkins says gasoline prices have dropped 16 cents in 17 days here in Florida. The state average is five cents lower than a week ago at $2.52.
Jenkins expects the downward trend to stop soon as energy prices are starting to rise again. Jenkins says crude oil prices, gasoline futures and wholesale gasoline prices are all up.
In addition to the higher price of crude, Jenkins says seasonal refinery maintenance will also cause gasoline prices to rise soon.
The cheapest gas prices in Florida are in Jacksonville at $2.43. The most expensive gas is in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area at $2.66.
