Largo, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Police arrested a man they blame in the hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian Wednesday.
Victor A. Bonavita, 60, drove the vehicle that struck and killed John W. English, 74, as English tried to cross East Bay Drive Wednesday, according to a news release from Largo Police. They arrested him Saturday.
Bonavita left the scene of the crash, according to the release, and faces charges that include leaving the scene of a crash involving death, driving with a suspended driver's license involving a death, and tampering with evidence.
He also had a warrant out for him for something unrelated to this incident, the release said.
