Pinellas Park Teen Charged With Attempted Murder

Pinellas Park, Fla.(970 WFLA)-A  17 year old Pinellas Park teenager is facing numerous charges, including attempted felony murder charges, after he shot a man who confronted him,  as he was burglarizing the man's vehicle.

Pinellas Park Police say on February 18th,  Brandon Roman had found a loaded hand gun in an unlocked vehicle earlier in the evening,  and continued to search the area for other unlocked vehicles near the 6000 block of 106th Avenue.

But when a victim,  Alexander Weaver saw Roman enter his vehicle,  he confronted Roman, and began chasing him down the street.   That's when, according to the police report,  Roman pulled out the stolen hand gun and began shooting at Mr. Weaver, striking him in the arm, causing a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Pinellas Park Detectives arrested Roman Tuesday night, he's charged with one count of attempted  felony murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, two counts of armed burglary,  delinquent in possession of a firearm, and Violation of Probation (Grand  Theft Motor Vehicle).

Detectives continue to investigate the case as they look to identify,  and possibly charge other subjects that assisted Roman  with the burglaries.   The stolen firearm has not yet been  recovered and detectives will be working to locate it as the investigation  continues.
