POLK CITY (970 WFLA) --It's primary day for Republicans in a Polk County house district.
Two Republicans are running for the state House seat (39) formerly held by Neil Combee, who quit the Legislature to take a job with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The district includes much of Pok County and a small portion of Osceola County.
Josie Tomkow of Polk City, a University of Florida student, is running against Jennifer Spath of Bartow, a former prosecutor. Tomkow has led in fundraising and is endorsed by Combee. The winner faces Democrat Ricky Shirah on May 1st. Polls close at seven tonight.
