Baby Born At Florida State Fair!

Tampa, Fla.(970 WFLA)- Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputies patrolling the Florida State Fair on Friday got a lot more than they bargained for, in fact, it came in the form of a newborn baby girl!

 At 4 o'clock Friday afternoon  Deputies Roberto Ramirez and Henry Echenique heard a woman asking for help as her water broke.  The two veteran deputies jumped into action and within minutes, they helped the woman's husband delivered a healthy baby girl near the Expo Hall in the main fairway.   Deputy Echenique caught the baby and held her until EMS arrived.   In total, there were 10 deputies with assisted with the delivery.   Mom was transported to Saint Joe's Women's Hospital.   Kesha Martin and her baby are both in good condition at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. 

Friday was also Student Day at the 2018 Florida State Fair.  The sheriff's office reports it  was an overall success with no major incidents to report.   This year, there were a total of 30 ejections and four people arrested during the Fair. After the Fairgrounds were closed, five individuals were ejected from the property and two were arrested.   In comparison, in 2017 there were 32 ejections and four arrests during the operating hours.
