The opioid crisis brings U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions to Tampa Wednesday.
Sessions will address reporters at the U.S. Attorneys Office in downtown Tampa to explain what the federal government is doing to combat the epidemic.
His visit coincides with discussion in Tallahassee. Lawmakers are considering a measure to deal with the crisis in Florida. Governor Rick Scott has outlined a proposal to deal with opioid abuse, including an effort to expand access to the state's prescription drug database and require doctors to prescribe only three days' worth of opioid pain killers to patients.
