Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Two people died when the car they rode in crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer parked on a road Friday, deputies said.
The Freightliner semi's trailer sat on Sheldon Rd. waiting to back into a driveway when Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies say that Samuel Thomas drove struck the trailer's rear end at about 10:20 a.m.
Thomas, 38, died, as did front-seat passenger, Juanita Paolino, who was 70. A passenger riding in the back seat suffered non-life threatening injuries.
