Port Richey, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-City of Port Richey utility customers are under a precautionary boil water notice after a filter malfunction in the treatment system caused a drop in water pressure.
The problem has been corrected and the system is being flushed, but the boil water notice will stay in effect until a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe to drink.
Water department workers advise that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled. They say a rolling boil of at least one minute should be sufficient. Bottled water can be used an an alternative to boiling.
