CareerSource TampaBay CEO Ed Peachey's unpaid suspension by the CareerSource TampaBay board follows Thursday's recommendation by the Hillsborough County Commission to do just that.
Peachey is under fire as the non-profit employment agency faces allegations of falsifying employment numbers. The board chairman for CareerSource Pinellas on Thursday suspended Peachey with pay.
The state is investigating CareerSource and now, Florida Democratic senator Bill Nelson says he's received word from Labor Secretary Alex Acosta that the U.S. Department of Labor will determine if any federal funds were misused by CareerSource.
Peachey has denied the allegations.
