Howell Donaldson III appeared in a Hillsborough courtroom Friday morning for a brief hearing on his murder case.
The 24-year-old is charged with killing four people in Seminole Heights.
Public Defender Julianne Holt tells the judge her client has been made aware that prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against him.
Donaldson has waived speedy trial and the next court hearing is in June.
Meantime, a hearing has been scheduled for Donaldson's parents, who have refused to answer prosecutors' questions in the case. That civil contempt hearing will take place February 9th.
