Bradenton, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A shooting killed a man at an apartment unit Saturday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded to a report of gunshots at The Gates of Bradenton apartments at about 5 p.m. and found Jody Pierce, 41, dead inside.
"Detectives do not believe this was a random incident," a news release from the sheriff's office said. If they have a suspect, they did not say who it is. Pierce's criminal record includes arrests for petit theft, marijuana possession and contempt of court.
