Haines City, Fla. (970 WFLA)-A girl apparently distracted by her cellphone is the victim of a deadly train collision.
Polk County Deputies say Haines City eleven-year-old, Yazmin White was killed yesterday afternoon while walking on the tracks near U.S. 17/92.
The conductor of the Amtrak passenger train told deputies the girl was looking down at her phone and despite blowing his horn repeatedly, she never got out of the way. Deputies believe the girl also had headphones on and might not have heard the train coming.
