BARTOW, FL (970 WFLA) - Four people are dead after a twin-engine plane crashed this morning at Bartow Municipal Airport.
The crash occurred at the end of a runway near Ben Durrance road...the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Polk County Fire Rescue are on the scene.
Multiple outlets are reporting that at the time of the crash, about 7:20 this morning, the airport reported zero visibility because of heavy fog.
A spokesperson for Polk County Fire Rescue says the department had a tough time responding to the scene because of the fog.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
