AUBURNDALE (970 WFLA) -- Amazingly, no injuries were reported when an Amtrak train collided with a flatbed truck at a crossing on Recker Highway Thursday afternoon.
Polk sheriff's deputies say an eastbound Amtrak train struck the trailer of the semi that had just crossed the tracks, dragging it a short distance before coming to a stop.
Deputies and Auburndale police spent much of the afternoon working on detaching the trailer from the semi, and from the train.
