Clearwater, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police here have presented the Samaritan Award to a woman for helping to care for two small children during a DUI investigation.

Police say that Megan Andrews was driving along McMullen Booth Road when she saw an officer trying to take care of two toddlers on the side of the road.  The mother of the two had been in a minor accident and was the focus of the DUI probe.

Andrews stopped to ask the officer if she could help.  After the officer accepted, Andrews drove home and got toys, snacks and drinks for the kids and kept them busy until their grandma could come and get them.

Chief Dan Slaughter says Andrews "epitomizes what the Samaritan Award is all about."
