TAMPA and MILWAUKEE, WI (970 WFLA) -- A new survey says the local job outlook remains strong in the year ahead.
Temporary staffing firm Manpower says 25 percent of Tampa Bay area employers plan to hire more workers in the first quarter. Only two percent plan cutbacks. Most of the rest plan to stick with current staffing. Most economic sectors are in a hiring mode.
In Sarasota, Manpower says 23 percent of the employers it surveyed plan to add workers between January and March, while only four percent plan to reduce payrolls. In Orlando, the news is even stronger. Manpower says 28 percent of Orlando metro area businesses plan to add workers in the first quarter of next year. Only 4 percent plan layoffs.
Nationally, Manpower says U-S employers are going to be hiring at the strongest pace in 10 years... and that construction and manufacturing are seeing a 'renaissance.'
