Gas Prices Dropping Again

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Gasoline prices here have dropped over 5 cents a gallon in the past week.  The analysts at Tampa Gas Prices.Com say the latest area average is $2.44.

Bay area drivers are lucky as the national average for a gallon of regular gas is $2.54, down just under 3 cents since a week ago.  Plenty of available gasoline in the system is behind the price drop just before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

There is some bad news in the new report.  Tampa gas prices are 44.3 cents per gallon higher than the same time a year ago.  Local gas prices are also over 16 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

Tampa Gas Prices. Com surveyed 1,260 gas outlets in the Tampa area for this latest report.
