Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A drunk driver going the wrong way wrecked four vehicles and caused critical injuries to another person involved, Tampa Police said.
It happened late Friday on the Courtney Campbell Causeway, where police said that Collin Cole, 26, struck a car with his pickup truck near Ben T. Davis Beach, then drove away, going west in the causeway's eastbound lanes.
Cole's Ford F-150 struck a Ford Mustang and continued westbound and struck a Honda Pilot head-on. Cole's truck bounced off the SUV and caused a head-on collision with a Honda Accord, according to a TPD news release.
One person suffered critical injuries. Several other people involved went to hospitals with injuries less severe. Cole faces numerous charges, including DUI with serious bodily injuries, DUI with property damage, and leaving the scene of a crash with damage.
