NEW PORT RICHEY (970 WFLA) -- Those skimmers placed on gas pumps to steal your credit card information... are getting more sophisticated.
Pasco Sheriff's Detective Spencer Hubbell says the new generation uses Bluetooth to send the data to the crooks... they can actually put them inside the pump and you'd never know. Worse yet, they can buy generic gas pump keys on Amazon.... cheap.
Hubbell says they can even buy stickers to put on the pump saying it's secure. His team just finished a joint investigation with the state Department of Agriculture and found five skimmers, at gas stations in Dade City, Zephyrhills and Land O' Lakes. Here are the locations:
