Palm Harbor, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-A Palm Harbor man is facing child neglect charges after he failed to inform doctors of a head injury to a three month-old child.
Pinellas County deputies say the child's dad called 911 to report that the baby was suffering from seizure like symptoms. The child was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital, but was released after treatment for what they thought was acid reflux.
When the child still wasn't acting right, mom took the child back to the hospital for treatment. What mom didn't know was that dad, 24 year-old Joseph Lusardi, knew that the baby had fallen off a table and hit his head while strapped into a car seat. The child was in Lusardi's care when the incident happened.
The child is still being treated at All Children's Hospital.
