Arrests Made In St. Petersburg Drive-By Shooting


St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA)- Pinellas Sheriff Detectives  have arrested two men who they say shot a man vacationing in St. Petersburg Beach. 

Eighteen  year old Bailey Jenkins and 18 year old Thomas Loudin admitted during questioning that they had been drinking and started shooting a high-powered pellet gun at random objects when they shot 51 year old Kurt Lang of Dallas, Texas, early Saturday morning.  

Lang was walking with his cousin near the Beachcomber Resort in the 6200 block of Gulf Boulevard when he heard  what he thought was a firecracker going off,  then realized he had been shot.  Lang  was  treated at the hospital for non life threatening injuries. 

Jenkins of Tarpon Springs and Loudin of St. Petersburg  are being held in the Pinellas County Jail, both men will make their first court appearance today.
