FHP Seeks Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Hudson, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A pedestrian died after three vehicles hit him as he tried to cross US-19 in Hudson Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The 56-year-old man, whom troopers did not identify in a news release, was crossing US-19 just south of Saltwater Blvd. just after 10:30 p.m. when he walked into the path of three vehicles on 19.

All three struck the man, who died at the scene. State troopers say the first vehicle drove off. They describe it as a charcoal gray Hyundai, either a sedan or an SUV. It will have front-end damage, and is missing its driver's side mirror and headlight.

They ask anyone who witnessed the crash, or sees the vehicle involved to call them at *FHP on their cell phones.
